Tributes flood in for O'Donnell
The death of Motherwell captain Phil O'Donnell has left British football in a state of shock.
O'Donnell died shortly after suffering a suspected seizure during a league match against Dundee United. Tributes poured in as Scottish football remembered a player described by former Scotland boss Craig Brown as 'a perfect gentleman' and 'an ideal role model'. O'Donnell, who was 35, was taken off the pitch at Fir Park on a stretcher in the closing stages of the Premier League match. He was about to be substituted in a match Motherwell won 5-3, but fell to the pitch as the change was taking place. After being treated for around five minutes on the field, the former Celtic and Sheffield Wednesday midfielder was carried off on a stretcher to a waiting ambulance and taken to Wishaw General hospital. He died at 5.18pm, the club announced. O'Donnell's nephew, striker David Clarkson, was also playing in today's match, and was substituted after being alarmed by the incident. Motherwell manager Mark McGhee said: 'I don't want to say anything more than how devastated everyone at the club is for his wife and his young children. 'That's what we are all feeling tonight, nothing else matters. 'Obviously from the club's point of view we'll gather round to give his family as much support as they need.' Motherwell owner John Boyle said: 'This is an unspeakable tragedy for Phil's family. 'Everyone at Motherwell is shocked to the core and we are sure that everyone involved in Scottish football will feel the same. Phil was not only an inspirational player for Motherwell and club captain, but was an inspirational person. 'All of us at Motherwell are thinking of his wife Eileen and their four children.' O'Donnell began his career with Motherwell and rejoined the club in 2004 following spells with Celtic, who he joined in a £1.75million deal in 1994, and Sheffield Wednesday. He was a hugely popular figure at the club, and chairman Bill Dickie, announcing O'Donnell's death, added: 'This is a tragic happening.' Motherwell striker Chris Porter paid an emotional tribute to his team-mate. Porter had only known O'Donnell since joining from Oldham in the summer. 'It's a massive loss to Motherwell, he was just a great player and a great person. Everyone will miss him,' Porter told Sky Sports News. Porter described the scenes towards the end of the game when he thought his captain had just fainted. 'I've never experienced anything like it,' he said. 'It's a massive shock and a massive loss to Motherwell. 'He went down and no-one really knew what had happened. Doctors and physios ran on, he was unconscious on the floor and it was clear he was in a bad way, but personally I never thought anything would happen. 'I'm just really shocked about it all. Everyone thought he would be okay and he had just fainted so it was a real shock to find out he had passed away.' O'Donnell made his Motherwell debut as a 17-year-old and went on to score, as a 19-year-old, in the 4-3 victory over Dundee United in the 1991 Scottish Cup final. His one Scotland cap came against Switzerland, with injuries affecting his spells with Celtic and Wednesday. He returned to Motherwell after being released by Wednesday in 2003, and made his second debut for the club in January 2004. He played for `Well in the 2005 Scottish League Cup final and was appointed captain in 2006, after former skipper Scott Leitch left the club. Former Scotland manager Brown knew O'Donnell well, having handed him his senior cap and also coached him during his time as Scotland Under-21 boss. Brown said: 'But for injury, I'm sure he would have had many, many more caps. It's very, very sad news, I just can't get over it. Brown described O'Donnell as 'a perfect gentleman'. He added: 'You would not get a more ideal role model for a young footballer than Phil O'Donnell. I think in his first spell at Motherwell he was probably the best box-to-box midfield player - maybe not just in Scotland but in the UK. 'He was a Steven Gerrard-type of player, and he went to Celtic and that was no surprise. He was a Celtic fan as well as a Motherwell fan.' Brown urged the whole of Scottish football to pay a tribute to O'Donnell with a minute's applause at every ground in the next round of games. The Scottish Premier League have postponed Motherwell's match against Hibernian next Wednesday, January 2, but the remaining five games, including Celtic's home match against Rangers, are expected to go ahead. Gordon Smith, chief executive of the Scottish Football Association, said: 'This is absolutely devastating news. 'Phil was not just a wonderful footballer, he was a great human being. My thoughts are with his family at this tragic time.' O'Donnell's former Motherwell team-mate John Philliben paid tribute. The pair were together at Fir Park in the early 1990s. 'Phil was a really nice guy who came into Motherwell when a youngster and worked really hard,' said Philliben. 'I watched him make his debut against St Mirren and play in the cup final for Motherwell before his move to Celtic. 'It will be a sad loss for his family and the club and I'm still in shock trying to take it all in.' Motherwell have had to deal with tragedy in the past. Legendary winger Davie Cooper died at the age of 39 in 1995 after suffering a brain haemorrhage when filming a training video for young players. Cooper had moved on to Clydebank from Motherwell shortly before his death, and had been a Motherwell team-mate of O'Donnell for several years. In 1998, Motherwell reserve player Andy Thomson died of a heart problem at his own 19th birthday party. Celtic chief executive Peter Lawwell expressed the club's sadness at the death of O'Donnell, their former player. He said: 'Obviously our thoughts are with his family to whom we offer extreme condolences for a tragic loss of a young life. 'Everyone at Celtic Park will mourn him.' Motherwell chief executive Ian Stillie asked all media to respect the O'Donnell family's privacy, and added: 'We would also like to thank the ambulance crew, the doctors and the nurses at Wishaw General.'

im baack!
time to blog!
ill skip xmas for now and go straight to the chalet.
27th december
woke up pretty late due to tonning the night before.accompanied mum to the market to buy groceries.by that time,it was already 1plus.came home and ate my lunch.while eating,my phone goes "ring ring" and its amy saying "err can come down now?" abt 30 mins b4 i was actually supposed to meet her.quickly finished my lunch and packed all my stuff.got delayed by five mins as my dad wanted to finish the race he was playing on my psp.so,went to meet amy at the busstop,carrying a 6kg bag of charcoal.it wast that heavy,just that the stupid bag kept pulling on my fingers,which hurts!.met mr tan at downtown and got the chalet key,and then headed to the room.from there,slacked awhile until the girls plus jiankai went to eat.the rest of us,(bchin,merv,sh,colin,hj and ,me)took a walk to aloha to play soccer.when the guard asked which unit we were from,we actually intended to say that we were gonna visit a friend,but,hj went to say out our downtown unit number,so we had to walk all the way back.we rented some bikes,and cycled back to aloha,but this time to the side gate.parked our bikes outside and went in,to play soccer.in the end we did not as we were called back to go attend to the bbq.so we decided to come back after the bbq to play.in the end we didnt tho.made alota food,and burned dunno how many donkey marshmallows.after that,went to the arcade with the guys.sh,hj and colin went to play parapara while the rest of us watched.after sh danced,me and bchin returned to the chalet as mr tan had arrived.entertained him for awhile until the rest came back.peng joined the guys at the arcade,as he came late.when they came back,we decided to go cycling,just us guys,as we wanted to do stupid stuff,stuff you can only do with guys.peng went home to get his bike,while all the guys minus bchin went to pasirris park to cycle.it was great fun!,we all cycled without shirts,to feel the " breeze on our bodies ".cycled aimlessly for awhile while joking and fooling around.we then decided to go to the playground to have some fun! first,we went on the big spider web,climed to the top and hung out for awhile.followed by climbing the other spider like thingy with the slide.climbed to the top,hung out summore and took some pics,will post them as soon as i get them.we then moved on to the big blue round circle thingy sh,merv and myself grabed onto it while hj pushed us round and round.in the end,hj losy cuz he gave up before any of us did.we then cycled to find a open shop as jiankai wasnt feeling that well and needed some water.we then headed back to the chalet.after washing up,we went for another round of cycling.this time amy and bella joined us while jk went to bed.merv and i took the tandom bike and cycled to the mango ice place,then the red house.there were too many slopes while going to the red house i say!.but it was all worth it.switched back to our normal bikes at the red house and went cruising down the slopes,good fun.from there,we went cycling at pasir ris park again.this time we didnt do crazy stuff like our first cycling session at pasirris park,just normal cycling.we stopped at a breakwater to rest.only merv,hj and myself went and sat at the breakwater,due to there being one super horny dog near by.when we were leaving,that dog kept humping a guy who was sitting there with his gf.poor guy,getting humped by a dog ._.
from there,cycled to mac and had a mcspicy.couldnt finish my fries,so gave them to bchin.we once again cycled to pasir ris park,but this time to the playground.after awhile,amy,bella,sh,hj,bchin and peng left.leaving only merv,colin and myself at the playground.found one comfy spot to lie in,and we talked,recounting our past and sharing stories,our opinions on stuff,and people.after awhile,bchin,amy and sh came back.sh left within 5 mins,leaving amy and bchin with us.changed subject once they came to other stuff.merv suddenly kept rather quiet ._..waited till sunrise,and then headed back to the chalet.my butt ached due to over cycling T.T.at the chalet,showered nd then slept till 10am.returned the bikes and slacked at the room for awhile.bella left first,while the rest of us were still packing our stuffs.
from there,went home and slept,slept,slept.overall this was a great chalet,beating last year's.hope to have another 2e3 chalet next year!
and oh yeah,changed my blogsong to iris by the goo goo dolls,nice?

okay..i havent been blogging for a while,mostly since ive either been to busy or not in the mood to blog!,well now im neither,so tahdah! here i am! =D
okay,ive got alot to recount about,so lets start at last saturday,15 december.
went to batam with my many cousins! there were 18 of us.ive got many cousins =D
so,we took the ferry there,and went to one temple,then went on to a buddhist temple.after that,the whole day was spent shopping! and eating,and talking.the meegoreng indonesian style was shiok, shiok i say! bought myself a shirt over there.the shirts there are mega cheap!,its the same quality as shirts sold in bugis,but 1/3 the price!,didnt buy more cause i was rather busy scouting all those game shops.the donuts there are way cheaper than those in spore,and are of the same quality as those of donut factory!okay,that's abt it for that day,there's summore,but im too laxy to think of what i did.
sunday 16 december
day was spent at home,stoning of course.went to the eastcoast for dinner,then it was off to bchins house for soccer!,not to play soccer,but to watch it!,it was rather fun watching soccer with them,due to the stupid comments that we would all make when someone misses.we watched the liverpool vs manu match,the arsnel vs chelsea match,and inbetween the Asian Idol. HADY MIRZA WON! it was unbelievable. he was byfar the lousiest contestant there,and yet he still won!,we talked more then we watched the match or the second match.
monday 17 december
went to school in the morning.sh and i were supposed to meet bchin and colin on the bus,but we were too busy playing psp to notice that the bus that they were in went by.so the two of us waited for the next bus and went to school.the day was spent mostly having fun and playing bomberman while the sec2s did the work.nice for a change,cause we usually do all the slogging.had jokes abt andrew's d*** at mac,we went so far as to say he could highjump using it.it was a good laugh.from there,we headed to the multi purpose hall near colin's hse for COMEDY SOCCER!,it was good fun,me flying around everywhere,senghong being the ball and so on.havent laughed as much while playing soccer in a long time.
tuesday 18 december
went for the 6/2 class of 04 gathering.it was kinda fun.we went bowling at first.im not the best in bowling,but i did at least manage 4 strikes!,after bowling,some went to play pool,while lester,jiajie,waichuang and i went to play the picture game!,kinda fun,but stupid.from there,we all went to liewyung's house.the girls already reached befor us cause they took cab.the guys walked there.we did stop for some fried rice before going there,so we were very very late.=P
at his house,liewyung played the gituar,he'd kick andrew's ass anytime with his gituar skills.but i think bren wuld still be a little bit better than him.from there,the girls went home,while the guys went to play soccer.had fun playing night soccer with them!,havent played soccer with them in a long while!

went to work at the laundry place with amy,bella,khoryiling,renee,randi,xunnan,bryanchin,bryanneo,bren,sh,colin.
only bren,bneo,sh and myself stayed on for the second shift.the first shift was rather boring as we were all seperated.there was this machine between me and bren,so our only way of entertaining each other wasd to dance and do all sorts of stupid stuffs.the second shift was much better,bneo,bren and i worked together,so we had fun talking while working.talked about alot of stupid stuffs.suprising we all did not feel tired after work ended.maybe due to the coffee?who knows.anyway,we headed back to tm after that,and after bneo's parents picked him up, we headed to the pasarmalam and bought ramly bugers!,ramly rocks man!kicks mac's ass anytime!wnt home from there.
friday 21 december
went to get my ic done at around 1plus.the place was super crowded.got my ic done,and headed back home.quickly rushed my lunch,and went to bneo's place for soccer.the usual guys went.peng and kw made a surprise appearance.soccer was fun,but tired the heck outta me.
and potato, DON'T you ever dare treat a small kid like that EVER again,id kick ur ass inside out if i catch you doing that again.went home,changd and went to the pasarmalam again after that.damn they just dont seem to have the jerzy that i want =/ what a bummer.

okay,so rajes akka and her family came to my palce to spend the day =DD.its always fun having her around.went out for dinner with her family and one of my dad's business clients.went to upper changi,lower changi, i duno, we just went somewhere in changi.we ate ate and ate and ate summore.we had sambal stingray,a steamboat,satay,friedrice,chickenwings and much more.ate till i had the feeling that i wanted to puke.yesterday,we broke the most satays eaten in 1 hour record.it used to be 100,now its 120! woohoo!after that went to ecp for a night walk to "digest" the food.the tide was so bloody high man.we were standing n the footpath,and the water was like 10 cm away from us? highest tide ive ever seen in ecp.well,headed home after that,and THUD i slept like a pig until now ;D
